VINTAGE NOTES : The 2022 vintage represents another year of balanced wines from our Knollwood Vineyard in the southern, cooler Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. The growing season started early, saw ideal weather conditions in the early season, until we had a triple digit heat spell in August. Thankfully, our cooler southern vineyards, with ooler afterbnoon breezes and heavier canopies fared well during this heat spell. The heat was followed by rain, but again our cooler, southern fruit was still turgid, so was not affected by the rain. All of our fruit was picked at perfect ripeness and with the hallmark balance of acidity that our southern vineyards are known and respected for. The wines from 2022 are displaying ripe fruit, great structure and balance.

The result is a wine of captivating complexity and depth. Aromas of black cherry, cassis, and graphite mingle with hints of vanilla and spice. On the palate, it's full-bodied and structured, offering layers of dark fruit, licorice, and espresso. The tannins are firm yet velvety, providing a framework for aging while still allowing the wine's inherent elegance to shine through.
